Thanks to your choice to support renewable energy, you are helping us to change the way power is made. You’ve already helped spur the development of over 50 new wind and solar facilities across the nation, which includes Green Mountain Energy Sun ClubSM solar installations at local non-profits made possible entirely by our customers’ monthly donations.
You also support the Green Mountain Energy® Wind Farms at Langford and Elbow Creek. These two wind farms in West Texas are jointly capable of producing up to 270 megawatts (MW) – enough to power 220,000 homes.
Even more exciting is that last year Green Mountain customers had their largest ever annual environmental impact, avoiding over 3.5 BILLION pounds of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. Added to our cumulative impact as a company, that means that Green Mountain customers have avoided upwards of 14.8 billion pounds of CO2 since our inception! That’s like taking 1.3 million cars off the road for a year, or as much CO2 as 688 million trees would absorb in a year.
