Texas Hearing Institute

Since its founding in 1947, Texas Hearing Institute has become nationally renowned and has grown into the most comprehensive pediatric hearing loss program in Texas. Programming includes audiology services, speech therapy classes, bilingual family support services enhancing quality mainstream school education, programming for adolescents that includes summer camps and helps develop leadership skills, and an onsite school.

The Melinda Webb School offers children with hearing loss, between the ages of 18 months and 6 years, individualized instruction that accelerates their development of spoken language and prepares them to enter local public and private schools by first grade.

A $244,000 grant awarded in 2024 will power 33% of the building’s electricity needs, equating to energy savings exceeding $16,000 each year. This is Sun Club’s first grant awarded to a nonprofit supporting hearing loss and one of our largest solar installations to date.
