Green Mountain Energy Sun Club joined forces with the Millvale Community Development Corporation (MCDC) to support the Gardens of Millvale Orchard, a vibrant community space that helps advance food security through education, stewardship and sustainability.
Founded in 2010, the garden has grown to include 40 raised garden beds, a high tunnel and a thriving orchard featuring sweet cherry, sour cherry, apple, pear and peach trees, along with newer additions such as serviceberry, hazelnut and blackberry plants.
As part of this ongoing partnership, Green Mountain Energy employees volunteered alongside MCDC during an Earth Month cleanup event, helping mulch and maintain the orchard so it can continue providing fresh food, hands-on learning opportunities and environmental education for the Millvale community.
Together, Sun Club and MCDC are cultivating a more sustainable future by supporting a community resource that connects people with locally grown food, promotes environmental stewardship and helps strengthen long-term food security in Millvale.
