Common Ground Farm

This community-minded organic farm grows produce to donate to soup kitchens, local markets, and food pantries, while serving as an educational model for healthy food choices. To expand its reach across neighborhoods and to add clean transportation to its list of sustainability successes, Common Ground Farm is using a donation of $85,615 from the Sun Club to upgrade its Common Green bus to vegetable oil fuel with solar-powered freezer, cooler, hot plates, and cookers.

In addition to the new bus, the farm will develop programs that include cooking demonstrations and a solar food dryer to preserve the harvest.
