Through a $121,000 sustainability grant from Green Mountain Energy Sun Club, Dallas Hope Charities has expanded its support for LGBTQIA+ young adults experiencing homelessness with the installation of a 17 kW solar array, 10 kW battery storage system and an electric vehicle at the Dallas Hope Center.
The organization's mission is to provide food, shelter and services that instill dignity, stability and hope while creating safe, inclusive spaces where young adults can access housing, life skills training and essential support resources.
The sustainability enhancements are expected to save the organization more than $12,000 annually, reducing energy costs and allowing more resources to be invested directly into programs and support services that empower residents and strengthen long-term outcomes.
Dallas Hope Charities also works to build a more inclusive community through education, outreach and suicide prevention initiatives.
Together, Sun Club and Dallas Hope Charities are creating a more sustainable future while helping deliver dignity, stability and hope to vulnerable youth across North Texas.
