During periods of high electricity usage or extreme temperatures, a Ready, Set, Relax event automatically adjusts your smart thermostat to help conserve energy. These adjustments benefit the environment and can help you save on your electricity bill. Rest assured that you’re still in control and can always change the temperature at any time. 

How it works: 

  • Your smart thermostat comes with enrollment in the Ready, Set, Relax program.
  • A Ready, Set, Relax event occurs when high electricity demand is expected.
  • Your thermostat will automatically adjust up to 4 degrees to help you save energy.
  • Conserving energy makes a positive impact on the planet and your community.

Yes. The Vivint Smart Thermostat, Vivint Doorbell Camera Pro and professional installation are available at no cost to you as a Green Mountain Energy customer, and the equipment is yours to keep. As long as you remain a customer, your monthly subscription fee will be waived. However, if you choose to leave Green Mountain Energy, Vivint will charge a monthly subscription fee to your payment method on file. Please note that subscription pricing is subject to change. $14.99 or the then-prevailing subscription fee will apply.2

This is to cover any potential expenses, like the monthly app subscription fee, or site preparation fee, if you decide to cancel your Green Mountain Energy electricity service.2

You can keep the equipment and continue being a Vivint customer for only $14.99 per month, though please be aware that this fee may change over time. If you choose to cancel your Vivint subscription, you’ll lose access to Vivint app features, such as two-way talk through the doorbell and thermostat scheduling.

All components of this bundle are designed to work together for optimal comfort, control and savings. At this time, the bundle cannot be separated. 

To maximize energy efficiency, participation in the Ready, Set, Relax program is required. But rest assured that you can opt out of a Ready, Set, Relax event at any time by adjusting your Vivint thermostat manually or with the Vivint app.

If you’re not satisfied with the equipment or service, you can contact a Vivint customer care agent to discuss your options. They offer a straightforward process for removing or switching back to your old devices. Simply reach out to them, and they’ll guide you through the steps to ensure a smooth transition.

The site preparation fee only applies when additional wire runs or other technical preparation is needed to complete your installation.

The site preparation fee is designed to ensure the best possible experience if your home needs additional work. We strongly encourage customers to include this service as part of their installation. There will be no penalty for not paying the site preparation fee.

In some cases, a camera may require a new power wire to be installed. If that’s needed, your Vivint technician will take care of everything during the installation—no preparation is required on your part. To provide power to the camera, the technician may create a small, discreet opening in an interior wall, neatly secure the wire along the trim, and connect it to a nearby indoor outlet using equipment provided by Vivint. We take care to keep the installation clean and professional.

The need depends on your home's existing doorbell wiring and power setup. If you don't currently have a wired doorbell, a wire run will likely be needed to power your Vivint Doorbell Camera. Even if you do have an existing wired doorbell, additional power may be required to ensure your doorbell camera performs at its best. Your Vivint technician can evaluate your setup during the installation and determine the best solution.

Terms, conditions and other restrictions

1 Vivint HomeEssentials incentive is provided by Vivint LLC. Offer valid for qualifying Green Mountain Energy electricity customers not currently enrolled on a month-to-month plan.

2 Monitoring and other features available through the Vivint app are complimentary if you maintain electricity service through Green Mountain Energy. If you leave Green Mountain Energy, a monthly subscription fee of $14.99 (or the then-applicable fee) from Vivint for the app and its features will automatically apply. You will be required to provide a payment method to Vivint at the time of installation to establish your account. A $25 site preparation fee may apply if additonal work is required to prepare the home for installation. You may cancel your subscription at any time by contacting Vivint directly.
