All of our home electricity plans use 100% clean energy powered by wind or solar. We offer plans that can help you save money with reduced pricing at certain times of day, and smart home products that help maximize energy efficiency — allowing you to live greener and more sustainably.

    Most of the electricity in the United States comes from nonrenewable fossil fuel sources. In fact, generating electricity is the #1 industrial cause of air pollution in the U.S. It creates more CO2 emissions than any other sector and increases the effects of climate change.

     

    Clean energy, on the other hand, is 100% pollution-free. It’s produced using naturally replenished and virtually inexhaustible sources like the sun and wind. Best of all, it can have a positive impact on the effects of climate change.

    Energy sources that are either inexhaustible (solar, wind) or replenished over a short period of time (hydro, biomass, geothermal) are considered renewable. Most renewable energy ultimately comes from the sun — indirectly in the case of wind, water and biomass; directly in the case of solar generation.

    Switching to Green Mountain Energy

    Sign up online or call 1-866-301-3120 to enroll over the phone. You won’t need to contact your current provider — we’ll automatically handle the switch once you’re set up with a new Green Mountain Energy plan.

    Green Mountain Energy doesn’t charge a fee for switching from another provider. However, your current provider may charge an early termination fee. We suggest reviewing the terms and conditions of your current contract to determine if you’ll be charged when you switch.

    You’ll receive your first bill up to 45 days after your Green Mountain Energy service begins.

    Your average bill will vary depending on the type of plan you choose, the size of your home and the amount of electricity you use each month. You can always learn more about your usage trends by logging in to My Account.

Our additional home energy solutions include solar buyback plans and smart home system upgrades like the Home Base Essentials bundle — a smarter home solution from our home security partner, Vivint. When you add Home Base Essentials to your plan, you can live more efficiently, reduce your environmental impact and keep your home protected with a complimentary smart thermostat and doorbell camera.
