Project Overview

Since 2008, My Possibilities has been giving adults with disabilities a real college experience. My Possibilities provides training in independent living, socialization, health and wellness, creative expression and job training to provide HIPsters (Hugely Important People) with the training they need to be contributing and engaging members in their communities.

Sun Club awarded My Possibilities a $200,000 grant with $100,000 going toward the installation of one-third of its new 200 kW solar system. The new panels will provide 40% of the facility’s annual electricity, saving My Possibilities $25,000 per year. That’s the equivalent of five to six students’ yearly tuition.

The remaining $100,000 will be used to create a new horticulture elective program for 30—45 students per week. Food grown through the program will be used in an internal catering program, and excess food will be sold to the community. The donation funds the foundation, water and power hookups, hydroshed, raised garden beds, garden materials, seed library and rainwater catchment system.
