Project Overview

Dedicated to enhancing Pittsburgh’s vitality by restoring and protecting urban forests, Tree Pittsburgh is leading the way on educating its community about the many benefits of trees.

The Sun Club donated almost $135,000 to help the organization reach its goal of achieving net-zero energy status and LEED Platinum certification. The sustainability grant provided a solar array, battery system, stormwater capture capabilities and assistance for riverfront restoration projects.

Tree Pittsburgh has seen a reduction in energy costs through the use of renewable energy, while enhancing the quality of life for its community by protecting acres of tree canopy across the urban environment.
