Powering the Oldest School in Corpus Christi with Solar Power
Roy Miller High School is the oldest high school in Corpus Christi, where it is known as a center for science and technology. A $20,000 donation from the Sun Club built a roof-mounted 5.5-kilowatt solar array which is expected to generate 6,892 kilowatt-hours of pollution-free energy each year.
“We are looking forward to finding unique and innovative ways of utilizing the data in our student’s everyday work. This is a real-time, hands-on learning opportunity for our students and we are extremely grateful," said Mrs. Stella Torres, Miller High School Principal.
