Project Overview

Opened in the late 1970s and located in southeast Dallas County in Seagoville, TX, the Dallas ISD Environmental Education Center offers programs designed to extend and enrich the state and local schools’ curriculum. The Center consists of 500 acres of natural Texas habitat and includes interactive displays, nature trails, plants, animals, exhibits, laboratories, a greenhouse, and various gardens. The museum portion of the center includes a large orientation theater and a variety of instructive exhibits that focus on the actual ecosystems at the Environmental Center site.

Back in 2004 the Sun Club donated a small array to the roof which is used to teach the young and curious minds of the visitors about the wonder of solar energy. It is also supplying pollution-free electricity to the building, helping to reduce energy costs.
