Solar Awareness through Art
There’s an art to promoting sustainable economic development, and the New Rochelle Downtown Business Improvement District (BID) gets it. Literally. Established in 2000, the BID is a nonprofit association of more than 800 businesses and property owners who share the goal of growing new business and investment, sustainably. The BID is a strong advocate for enhanced energy conservation in downtown New Rochelle and has been recognized by the Public Energy Commission and Con Edison for its conservation efforts.
The Sun Club will donate $50,000 toward the design, development and installation of a solar energy-inspired public art display to be located on the roof of the New Rochelle Library. Form and function will live harmoniously in this art display created to promote the awareness, support and adoption of solar energy in the community.
