Electric Vehicles (EVs) are vehicles that are either partially or fully powered on electric power. Electric vehicles have low running costs as they have fewer moving parts for maintaining. Electric vehicles are very environmentally friendly as they use little or no fossil fuels (gasoline or diesel). In fact, by choosing an EV, you’d be tackling one of your biggest sources of carbon emissions – transportation.
A time-of-use (TOU) program is a program that encourages customers to shift electricity use to certain hours of the day by providing a lower price during that time. The All Nighter for EVs plan encourages EV owners to charge their vehicles in off-peak hours when the demand for electricity is lower and their price is lower.
When you sign up for the All Nighter for EVs plan, you are enrolling with Green Mountain Energy and powering your home with 100% clean electricity. Green Mountain Energy – the longest-serving renewable energy retailer – becomes your electric generation supplier and provides time-of-use pricing. This pricing structure features a lower price for electricity used during times of the day when the demand for electricity is lower (also called off-peak hours) and a higher price for electricity used during times of the day when the demand for electricity is higher (also called peak hours).
On-peak hours are from 7:01 a.m. – 9:59 p.m. Off-peak hours are from 10:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m., to allow for customers to charge their car at a lower rate.
Electricity costs vary throughout the day depending on overall demand on the electric grid. For example, in the summer, there is a higher demand for electricity during the afternoon, so the cost to generate and use electricity during these peak periods goes up. To minimize electricity usage during these high-cost periods of the day, time-of-use programs charge higher prices during the high-cost (or peak) periods, and lower prices during off-peak times of the day to encourage you to shift your electricity usage to those lower-price periods.

Each customer’s electricity usage habits and patterns are unique. We recommend you review your specific usage patterns by logging in to your online account or contacting your utility.
No, there are absolutely no costs to enroll.
No, there are no cancellation fees if you decide to cancel your enrollment in the All Nighter for EVs plan.
If you sign up on the All Nighter for EVs plan with Green Mountain Energy, you will receive fixed pricing for the term length that you enrolled with Green Mountain Energy on this plan. You will receive notification at the end of this term on your renewal pricing options.
When you sign up on the All Nighter for EVs plan with Green Mountain Energy, your on-peak and off-peak supply prices are fixed during the term of your plan. It is possible that Green Mountain Energy’s prices will be higher than your utility’s basic service rate, but you can manage the impact of this higher rate by shifting your electricity usage to off-peak hours.
You will continue to receive one monthly bill from your utility that will include a line item on your bill that will list Green Mountain Energy and supply charges. Your peak and off-peak charges will be listed on your bill as two separate line items.

For questions about the All Nighter for EVs plan, you can call Green Mountain Energy. Your utility is still your distribution provider, so direct all distribution-related questions to your utility. Your utility will continue to provide customer support and respond to outages and other emergencies.

Prior to the end of your term, we will notify you of your renewal price options. If you do not respond to the notifications provided prior to the expiration date, you will receive notification at the end of your term for next steps on your plan.
