Project Overview
The Human Impacts Institute works with East River State Park to bring free environmental education programs to community members and visitors of North Brooklyn. As the park does not have electricity, the solar-powered generator donated by the Sun Club is used for HII workshops and events with other community partners. It charges batteries and electronics that serve their public events and workshops, such as outdoor lighting, cell phone chargers, portable fans and coolers, and audio equipment. It is also used to host sustainable construction, energy efficiency, and cooking demonstrations.
