Pollution-free electricity plan from 100% wind includes Rachio Iro smart sprinkler controller
HOUSTON, TX – Green Mountain Energy Company is expanding its water conservation efforts by partnering with Rachio, a company dedicated to helping make yards more sustainable, to introduce a 100% clean, renewable energy plan that includes a water conservation product. Consumers who choose the Pollution Free™ WaterSaver 24 electricity plan will receive a Rachio Iro smart sprinkler controller.
This device connects to the Rachio platform via the customer’s home WiFi network and automatically adjusts to provide the right amount of water, saving up to 30 percent of water used by lawn sprinkler systems, according to Rachio. It also allows customers to control their sprinkler system from a smart phone or tablet anytime, anywhere.

Last year, Green Mountain became the only electricity retailer in Texas to offer customers a water conservation kit as part of an electricity plan. The Pollution Free™ WaterSaver 12 plan includes a Water Eco-Kit™ with water-saving products like faucet aerators and high-efficiency showerheads. The new Pollution Free™ WaterSaver 24 plan lets customers conserve water and builds on Green Mountain’s suite of products to help home-owners lead more sustainable lives.
