Make Something New Again by Recycling

Don’t toss your trash. Try recycling instead. Making new products from recycled materials cuts down on energy use and the need to harvest Earth’s resources (when compared to goods made from new materials).

Recycling is one of the three R’s for the environment: reduce, reuse and recycle. The goal of the three R’s is to protect the planet by eliminating waste.

Recycling transforms something used into a raw material (ready to create a new product). Doing this decreases waste in landfills, conserves resources and saves energy. All these things can reduce air and water pollution–go, Team Recycling!

What can I recycle at home?

How do I recycle while shopping?

3. Purchase goods that are made from recycled materials.

How can I recycle on the go?

1. If you’ve brought a single-serve drink for the road, be sure you find a recycling bin or bring it back home to your own recycling stash. (And next time, think about using a reusable drinking container.)
2. Many restaurants and eateries serve dishes in plastic containers and bins. If you’re going straight home, consider taking the container with you. You can ensure it’s going to be recycled.
3. If you’re doing the B.Y.O.L. thing, be sure to pack it in a reusable lunch container (and avoid ones made from BPA, lead or PVC).

Recycling can become a daily habit once you’ve changed your mindset about trash. Give your used goods a second life by planning ahead to protect the planet.
