What is Green-e® Energy certification?
Green-e® Energy is the nation’s leading certification program for renewable energy. It’s administered by the Center for Resource Solutions – a nongovernmental organization founded in 1997 that creates policy and market solutions advancing sustainable energy. Products certified under the Green-e® Energy program must meet Green-e® Energy standards, which are developed with the input of leading experts in the renewable energy industry.
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recommends that customers interested in green energy buy third-party certified products2, and the Green-e® Energy program provides that certification for renewable energy products. The program has seen a big increase in the retail energy market, with over 1.6 million retail customers purchasing Green-e® Energy certified products in 20193.
