From May 11th to 15th, commuters across the nation are encouraged to bike to work instead of taking their cars for the annual celebration.

According to the League of American Bicyclists, more than half of the U.S. population lives within five miles of their workplace, making bicycling a fun and feasible way to get to work. They also say that from 2000 to 2013, bike commuters have grown in the U.S. by more than 62%.

Many urban cities are planning events to help people on their ride, such as free showers in Springfield, MO, and metrolink train rides in L.A. Austin is celebrating by running various “fueling stations,” each with free coffee, snacks and a party!
