Project Overview

Urban Renewable Energy & Agriculture Project (REAP) is helping connect the North Waco community to the planet through environmental education and urban gardening. Thanks to the $234,000 donation from the Sun Club, Urban REAP will feature solar power, an aquaponics greenhouse, raised grow beds, commercial composting, a rainwater catchment and purification system, recycling projects and an educational facility equipped with training materials.

Using a sustainable approach, Urban REAP is providing fresh, healthy locally grown foods to communities in Waco. Area residents will also benefit from on-the-job training in the field of environmental sciences.

Urban REAP is bringing a holistic mindset to how food is planted, grown, harvested and eaten while engaging and empowering the people it serves.
