Project Overview

Since 1989 Global Links has been working to redirect still-useful materials away from US landfills to support public health programs in targeted communities throughout the Western Hemisphere.

The Global Links model of medical surplus recovery and donation places equal emphasis on the two prongs of their mission: supporting health improvement initiatives in underserved populations and promoting environmentally sustainable practices in healthcare and beyond.

A Sun Club donation of $177,141 towards a combination of a 63.2 kW solar array and LED lighting upgrades will offset 100% of the warehouse facility’s energy needs allowing Global Links to focus more of its resources on achieving its two pronged mission, all while achieving energy independence. Each year, Global Links diverts 300 tons of medical surplus away from landfills, ensures good condition and utility, and delivers them to resource-poor communities. Global Links works toward a day when no one will die for lack of what others throw away.
