Solar panels for solar power for home

Residential solar power

A residential solar system harnesses the energy from the sun to power your home. And now more than ever, solar power for homes is a financially practical option — from 2010 to 2017, the cost to install solar has dropped by more than 70%.1 What once may have seemed out of reach for most homeowners is now an affordable option for many across the United States.

The perks of a residential solar panel system

Homeowners gain many benefits from residential solar. When you go solar with one of our preferred installation partners, you can save thousands on installation costs with our exclusive residential solar rebate.2 Plus, when you let the sun power your home, you can reduce your carbon footprint and enjoy energy savings for years to come.

Benefits of solar energy

  • Save money

Lower your monthly utility bill and lock in a fixed rate on a portion of your electricity bill for the next 20-25 years.

  • Boost your home’s value

Studies show that homes with solar panels sell 20% faster and for 17% more money than those without.3

  • Make a difference

You could prevent more than 17,000 pounds of CO2 emissions a year. That’s like driving 18,500 fewer miles!4

Other factors to consider with a home solar power system

By going solar at home, not only can you affordably produce your own clean energy — but you also have the opportunity to sell back any excess energy generated to us. It’s called “net metering,” and you get rewarded for supplying the electricity grid with energy you produce but don’t consume.

With our Renewable Rewards® buyback plan, you’ll receive a bill credit from us for 100% of your system’s outflow to the energy grid.
