ENVIRONMENTAL DUE DILIGENCE

We review each and every wind farm, solar system, hydro facility and carbon offset project that we buy from. Specifically, we look for the following:

• No significant negative environmental effects (e.g., wildlife displacement or mortality) or social impacts (e.g., disruption of traditional land uses or community protests)
• For renewable energy, Green-e eligibility including:
  • Eligible resource type
  • Online date within past 15 years
  • Eligible generation period (no later than 6 months before or 3 months after the calendar year in which the customer’s electricity consumption occurred)
  • No double counting
  • No double claiming
• For carbon offsets, Climate Action Reserve or other applicable certification program eligibility
