Rescue Efforts:
The Houston Police Department and The City of Houston are requesting the public’s help. Those with boats and high-water vehicles, please contact the Harris County Fire Marshall’s office to help with rescue efforts at 713-881-3100.
Donations:
- Red Cross: Text the word HARVEY to 90999 to make a $10 donation to help hurricane/flood victims. You can also visit redcross.org or call 1- 800-RED CROSS. Red Cross for Central and South Texas
- The United Way: Text UWFLOOD to 41444 to donate to the United Way Flood Relief Fund.
- Salvation Army: donate at helpsalvationarmy.org or by call 1-800-SAL-ARMY.
- H-E-B stores: Starting Monday, all H-E-B, Central Market and Joe V’s Smart Shop stores across Texas give customers an opportunity to support victims through donations of $1, $3, or $5, which can be added to their total grocery bill. In addition, HEB plans to donate $100,000 toward Hurricane Harvey relief effort.
