Easy Peasy Isn’t Always the Name of the Game

No one said being green was going to be easy, but we think it’s worthwhile to take every stride we can toward sustainability. Check out how we stay as carbon free as possible when it comes to our business.

  • We use soy ink for our printed materials. Other inks are made from non-renewable resources and release volatile organic compounds that reduce air quality.
  • Recycled paper is the only way to go. Since every sheetc of non-recycled paper comes from forests, using less paper results in less deforestation.
  • We purchase carbon offsets to zero out the emissions that are produced for the electricity powering our offices and our website and during our employees’ office commutes and business travels. Carbon offsets are investments in projects that reduce or avoid carbon dioxide emissions, like capturing methane at landfills and wastewater treatment facilities, preventing deforestation and emphasizing energy efficiency. It’s comparable to destroying or sequestering the equivalent greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) in one place to offset carbon emissions taking place somewhere else. A carbon offset is achieved once 2,200 pounds of GHG have been reduced or avoided.

Now it’s your turn to pick up some new eco-friendly habits. Don’t worry. Many of them are as easy as 1, 2, 3.
