We all know what this time of year means: setting goals, making resolutions and, more often than not, feeling overwhelmed by the list we’ve just made.
Attaining your goals CAN happen. It’s important to reassure yourself by being realistic about what you can achieve and reflecting on what your heart truly wants.
Here are some goal-setting tips to help you get started:
- Set the mood by creating an environment that puts you in a peaceful and positive mindset. Load your favorite playlist, cozy up with your favorite throw, sip your favorite beverage and enjoy coming up with creative and new ideas that you haven’t tackled in the last three years.
- Focus on ALL areas of your life. Fitness and finance seem to be the major players when it comes to the goal-setting game. But there are plenty of others sitting on the bench looking for their shot. Consider visiting a new destination, reconnecting with an old friend or revamping your bedroom.
- Set goals of varying levels. Be sure you stack your deck with some goals that are easy, some that are moderate and some that are challenging to achieve.
- Check back in. Once you’ve started on each of your goals, take a moment to contemplate if this is what you had in mind. If you don’t feel good about what you are doing, switch it out for something that does work for you.
