Green Mountain employees from our Austin headquarters got down and dirty at the “Rock Party” in Shoal Creek Saturday, March 7.
The Austin Parks Foundation hosted the 13th Annual “It’s My Park Day,” where more than 3,000 volunteers from all over the city met at nearly 100 parks to participate in projects such as mulching, root clearing, tree care, painting, trail repair and litter pickup.
Green Mountain employees took to Shoal Creek in downtown Austin to help clear the silt and gravel from the creek beds that had accumulated from recent heavy rains and floods.
All volunteers in total contributed more than 10,000 hours of volunteer labor, (the equivalent of five park maintenance employees working full time for a year!), according to KVUE News.
