As the manager of the Green Mountain Energy Sun Club® and self-described holder of “the greatest job in the world,” I had the pleasure and adventure of announcing our 2014 Texas Sun Club solar project with a whirlwind tour around the state over a year ago.
This year, from March 16-21, I’m heading to cooler climates when I do a Northeast tour beginning in Pittsburgh with stops in Philadelphia and New York City to hand out more than $300,000 to local non-profits. The funds will be used by these organizations to build new solar energy systems on their buildings and property.
The Sun Club has been active in Pennsylvania and New York since 2012. Since that time, we’ve made 13 donations ranging from $1,500 towards solar generators for small community service organizations, up to $100,000 to install a 10 kW solar array on top of the famed Lincoln Center.
When I travel, I love to experience the best each city offers, so please let me know your city’s must-see attractions, including restaurants and landmarks, so I can pay a visit. Leave your comments and suggestions below or post them on our Facebook page or Twitter account for @SunClubTony. It may be freezing in the Northeast, but I’m going to do my best to bring a little Texas sunshine with me!
