Last year, the Green Mountain EnergyTM Sun ClubTM donated a solar project to the Greyston Foundation to help the Greyston Bakery bake brownies with the power of the sun!
Now, the bakery is baking solar-powered Cookie Thins that are equally delicious and sustainable.
As if you needed a reason to eat more cookies, these new sun-shiny treats were featured on the Whole Planet Foundation’s blog, highlighting the bakery’s sustainable business practices and charitable benefits that are helping to change lives:
- Since launching the cookies, Greyston has added 16 new jobs to its bakery. Through their Open Hiring™ model, the bakery is providing job opportunities to anyone with the willingness to work!
- The cookies benefit the Greyston Foundation that works to provide low-income housing, childcare, workforce development, and other programs to better serve their community in Yonkers, New York.
- Through their partnership with the Whole Planet Foundation, 1% of Cookie Thins profits support efforts to alleviate poverty through microcredit loans across 60 countries. Learn more.

Greyston’s Cookie Thins are exclusively carried by Whole Foods Market, and make an excellent addition to back-to-school lunches! The Greyston Bakery brownies already are offered in Whole Foods Market locations.
