How long have you been a Green Mountain Energy customer?
5 years

Why is purchasing cleaner energy important to your business and its operations?
We not only strive to educate our clients on sustainable practices, we use our office as an example of how being “Green” is easy and affordable. Using clean energy is one of the easiest things we can do and makes a huge impact. In conjunction with rainwater harvesting, recycling, composting, and basic energy savings strategies, we feel that we are making a positive impact on our employees, clients, and community.

How would you encourage other businesses or people who are considering using renewable energy?
It’s one of the easiest things you can do. Locate a provider and negotiate your terms and rate and then pay the bill each month. No effort is needed by employees and you have to have electricity from somewhere, right? Why not make it clean energy?

In what other ways does your company and/or its employees support sustainability?
We have a 15,000-gallon rain tank in our parking lot that stores rainwater to irrigate our plants, fruit trees, and vegetables in our inner city parking lot garden. We recycle, compost and consume less. Our nearly 100-year-old office space is a re-purposed church now being used as offices (pictured above). Despite the challenges of being in an old building, we are ENERGY STAR rated, have LED lamps throughout and promote sustainability by educating our employees and our clients.
