As Austin amps up for the 27th annual SXSW Festival in our headquarters’ backyard, Green Mountain is gearing up to make all 3,500+ SXSW panelists’ footprints lighter by offsetting the estimated carbon dioxide (CO2) and other greenhouse gas emissions created by each panelist’s travel and hotel stay. We’re so excited to be working with our neighbor SXSW to giddy up their sustainability efforts and help “green up” our hometown! Learn more here.
If you’re planning on attending the conference and are just as interested in sustainability and the environment as we are, we recommend checking out some of these eco-conscious panels that promise to be inspiring:
- The Metropolitan Revolution: Innovation Ecosystems
With uncertainty and lack of national leadership on issues from R&D funding and commercialization of innovation to skilled immigration, smart cities and metros are fostering innovation ecosystems tailored to their distinct assets and attributes for sustainable and inclusive growth.
- Smart Landscapes for the Future
Through the creation of social designs that instinctively respond to sound and movement, Daan Roosegaarde, creative director of the social design lab Studio Roosegaarde, pursues the widest possibilities of technological innovation.
- That’s Hot: Visualizing NASA Climate Science Data
Find out how the space agency is studying our home planet and why it’s working to make the Earth science data it collects understandable and meaningful to the public, policy makers and media.
