Volunteer for the Arboretum – Houston, TX

The Houston Arboretum and Nature Center offers several volunteer opportunities for those wanting to get up close and personal with nature:

  • Assist the Arboretum with maintaining the Wildlife Garden, Sensory Garden, in addition to other nearby gardens. It’s a great way to learn and expand your knowledge of local and native plants, butterflies, and hummingbirds! Sound interesting? Contact Lori Hutson, Volunteer Coordinator, at 713-681-8433 or email volunteer@houstonarboretum.org.
  • Due to the extreme drought and weather conditions, the Arboretum also seeks volunteers to assist in removing all the dead leaves, twigs, and plants near the building and driveway. By clearing these out, it helps decrease the chance of forest and grass fires from starting and spreading.  Volunteer opportunities are Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
