Green Mountain Energy® Solar at Alvin High School — Alvin
Students at Alvin High School now have the opportunity to learn first hand about solar power and renewable energy thanks to Green Mountain Energy Company’s Big Texas Sun Club®. This 1 kW solar array is part of the Texas Solar for Schools program. As part of this program, solar panels are installed on schools and incorporated into the learning curriculum. The array transmits real-time data—including the amount of energy it produces at any given time—to a web site accessible by the students.
