Position Summary:
Green Mountain Energy Company is seeking a Direct Sales Director with ourstanding sales leadership and organizational skills. This position will be responsible for managing the sales, and recruiting efforts for our in-house retail/storefronts and events, and inside sales residential sales programs for Texas and New York. The postion’s primary responsibility is to deveop a strong team of sales leaders which will ensure that each sales component exceeds its monthly and annual sales targets at desired acquisition costs and quality targets.
This position will manage the Houston, DFW, South Texas and New York Market Managers as well as the Inside Sales Manager which supports the Texas and New York markets.
Position Responsibilities:
- Manage team to achieve 2010 sales plan for assigned channels. Deliver monthly and annual sales targets at desired acquisition costs.
- Assure the quality of sales. Work with QA and Training manager to improve programs. Take corrective action when needed regarding quality issues. Talk with customers when needed to resolve customer complaints.
- Assure that staffing levels are being met and that all new hires are brought on in accordance with HR on-boarding practices.
- Assure that sales agent productivity goals are being met.
- Expand sales efforts into new areas of Houston and DFW.
- Must be willing to work in the field, personally selling and mentoring others on how to sell.
- Work with Market Managers and New Business Development to secure productive selling opportunities.
- Assure that Payroll is submitted on-time and is accurate.
- Develop and execute sales personnel retention programs.
- Generate daily, weekly and monthly sales reports.
- Provide competitive and other field related feedback.
- Work with stake holders across departments including, HR, accounting, marketing, & public relations to support sales efforts.
Required Skills and Experience:
- A sincere desire to help protect the environment is a plus
- Candidates must be proficient with Microsoft Office applications
- Minimum 10 years experience leading sales organizations to successful outcomes
- Must we willing to work some nights and weekends
- Must have strong documentation, communication and follow-up skills
- Knowledge of energy/deregulation strongly preferred
- Four year college degree preferred – Business Management or Marketing degree preferred.
