Product Marketing Manager

Position Summary:


Green Mountain Energy Company is looking for an individual with a proven track record identifying consumer needs and converting that information into compelling product offerings. The successful candidate will have the ability to generate innovative product ideas and take those ideas through the necessary research, design and implementation stages. This role will require an individual who is solutions-oriented, consumer-centric and who is skilled at working with a diverse set of objectives. Additionally, the ideal candidate for this role will have a track record of successfully marketing and launching new products into an extremely competitve environment. The candidate must also demonstrate strong cross-functional leadership ability.

Position Responsibilities:

 

  • Responsible for tactical project management including product lifecycle management for entire product portfolio (for both current customers as well as prospective customers)
  • Managing a portfolio of products that are both compelling for Green Mountain’s current customers and prospects, as well as differentiated from the company’s competitors
  • Leading innovation and ideation in the area of new product development, including utilizing future technology advancements
  • Communicate product launches and changes throughout the company
  • Manage product database and working relationships with various departments, such as supply and legal to manage, maintain, and update the details of the product portfolio and all product-related records.
  • Continuously identify areas for product innovation and development with a strong sense of superior customer experience compared to competitive offerings in the market.
  • Cultivate, support and launch strategies in alignment with marketing objectives, required training, and related responsibilities, methods and procedures.
  • Lead cross-functional/departmental teams through the full process of ideation, research, development, launch and measurement of new product offerings.
  • Evaluate and conduct quantitative analytics of current products, features, etc, and manage the daily and monthly analytics associated with multiple products.
  • Responsible for tracking product revenue and churn goals and overall product/project lifecycle mgmt.
  • Provide necessary analytical information to build business cases and strategic rationale for any product modifications or new product recommendations.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the competitive environment, including the competitors’ product activity, and communicate it with the team regularly.

Required Skills and Experience:


  • Must have 5-7 years experience with full product life cycle management (ideation/development to product discontinuation).
  • Must have 5-7 years of marketing management experience (new product launches, marketing materials development, campaigns, etc.) with consumer focused products (preferably subscription based)
  • Bachelor of Arts/Science in Business or Communications. MBA strongly preferred.
  • Strong preference for experience in services industry (utility, telecom, financial services, etc)
  • Demonstrated ability to drive growth in sales, market share, and profitability
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Forward thinker who takes initiative and is willing to take on new challenges/projects
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Proven leader, who can work with diverse groups of people to accomplish a common goal
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
  • A passion for winning in the marketplace.
