Position Summary:

This position reports to Senior Vice President of the Supply group at Austin office. The role of the Senior Analyst is to maintain/develop load forecasting models, and to support various statistical analyses in Supply group as well as related groups. To meet the requirements of this position, the Senior Analyst should work with large datasets in various format, and people from various groups as well as within the Supply group.

Position Responsibilities:

• Daily maintain and run short/long term load forecast models, deal capture system and position reports
  
• Stay abreast of latest/expected changes in ERCOT that affect load forecasting method as well as supply group activities.
  
• Identify issues in forecast model and work with others to improve the performance of the model
  
• Ad-hoc tasks to support hedging, risk metrics and finance.
  

Required Skills and Experience:

• Clear thought process and ability to understand the gist in complex phenomena
  
• Solid knowledge in descriptive statistics, regression analysis, modeling and probability distribution theory
  
• Large data management, data mining and programming experience in statistical software with connection to SQL and Oracle
  
• Extensive programming/development experience with SAS (ETS, STAT and ACCESS modules), SQL and Oracle database environments, LodeStar, and Siebel
  
• Familiarity in ERCOT environment preferred
  
• Aptitude to learn and good communication skills
  
• Graduate degree in Economics, Business, Mathematics, Statistics or Electrical Engineering preferred.
